Volunteer groups currently working
with the garden:
Shoal Creek Watershed Alliance

group of citizens working to protect, appreciate, and educate
residents and others about the Shoal Creek watershed. Meetings
are held at the Oakhurst Garden at 7:00 PM on the third Monday
of each month. Activities at the garden location include
monthly chemical monitoring (testing the water for dissolved
oxygen, settleable solids, ph and temperature); quarterly
biological testing (counting the variety and number of macro
invertebrates in the stream); ongoing monitoring for sedimentation,
erosion, sewer leaks, etc.; and participating in stream clean
ups and ivy pulls.
